Special Screening of Grandpa Cherry Blossom – The story of Francis Uyematsu

This Tuesday from 6-8 at Mira Costa, there will be a special screening of Grandpa Cherry Blossom, the story of Francis Uyematsu, who owned the land where Mira Costa now sits until forced to sell during Japanese internment. There will be a Q&A panel with the filmmaker, Mira Costa student Maddox Chen, as well as Uyemastu’s granddaughter Mary Uyematsu Kao and the alumni association’s Chuck Currier, whose diligent research helped bring this story to light.
